Simon Daniels

Simon Daniels
Simon is the Managing Director based in the Central London office. He started at Potter Raper in 1983 and became a Partner in 1990, helping to establish the London office in 1992.</p> <p>Simon is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by training but has also completed the RICS Diploma in Project Management.</p> <p>His experience has mainly been in the commercial sector on projects such as the £103 million office redevelopment of 245 Hammersmith Road and the £50 million new office buildings at Newcastle Helix. He also specialises in carrying out Due Diligence/Fund Monitor roles and was involved as such on the FA’s National Football Centre at St George’s Park, the new North/South stand at Headingley, the 2 million sq ft distribution centre for Amazon at Tilbury, other distribution centres for Next and Waitrose and student accommodation schemes at Cambridge, Southampton and Lincoln Universities.</p> <p>Within the public sector, Simon was the Director involved in the £180 million Building Schools for the Future programme for Haringey Council.</p> <p>Simon is keen on fly fishing and golf when away from the office.

Philip Bass

Philip Bass
Philip is a Director and joined Potter Raper in 1989 and he now manages the Beckenham office.</p> <p>Philip is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor managing teams providing Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying Services for our Housing and Education Sector Clients.</p> <p>He has led on a number of high-profile regeneration projects, with a strong focus on budget control whilst maintaining design integrity. He champions off-site construction solutions and sustainable development, providing advice on their implementation. He has extensive experience of providing our Clients with procurement options and advice, and ensures our Quantity Surveyors are an integral and active part of all design development.</p> <p>Philip enjoys travelling, spending time with his family, all sports and following his favourite football team.

Andrew Wells

Andrew Wells
Andrew is a Director, based in the Central London office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2002.</p> <p>Andrew is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, although he does also carry out Employer’s Agent and Construction Management commissions. Andrew looks after our higher-education Clients and also has considerable experience of high-end residential projects and, more recently, insurance work.</p> <p>When not in the office, Andrew likes cycling and fishing and playing around with old cars and motorcycles.

Robert Humphrey

Robert Humphrey
Robert is a Director, based in the Beckenham office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2002.</p> <p>Robert leads a team of 25 Employer’s Agents/Project Managers delivering schemes primarily for the Housing Sector, representing many of the major developing Registered Providers throughout London and the South.</p> <p>He has extensive experience and knowledge of various forms of contracts and has successfully developed bespoke and innovative agreements for Joint Venture Partnerships.</p> <p>When not in the office, Robert enjoys relaxing with his family, all sports and cooking.

Paul Denny

Paul Denny
Paul is the Director in charge of the Colchester office and has worked at Potter Raper since re-joining the company in 1997. He has run the office since 2007 and oversees a variety of Quantity Surveying, Bank Monitoring, Employer's Agent, Project Manager and Principal Designer commissions.</p> <p>Paul has significant experience in the residential sector, completing both private and public housing for a variety of Clients. He works with a number of Banks / Funds in providing Monitoring Services and Employer’s Agent works for Housing Associations. Paul also works extensively in the education sector providing advice for both new-build and refurbishment schemes.</p> <p>When not in the office, Paul likes spending time with his family and walking the dog. He is a keen spectator for most sports and enjoys a round of golf.

Joe Parker

Joe Parker
Joe is a Director, based in the Central London office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2004.</p> <p>Joe is a member of the Association of Project Managers (MAPM) and member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) having initially trained as a Quantity Surveyor.</p> <p>Joe carries out Project Management, Employer’s Agent, Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying commissions.</p> <p>Joe has considerable experience within the following sectors: commercial, education, retail, healthcare and leisure.</p> <p>His specialist experience is diverse and covers: Partnering and Framework Agreements; Construction Claims and Disputes; Lifecycle Costing; Procurement and Delivery Strategies; PRINCE2 Methodology; Fast track projects and multiple project delivery.</p> <p>When not in the office, Joe likes spending time with his family, golf, rugby, wine tasting, cooking and travelling. Joe is also a freeman of the City of London and a Steward and Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Joiners and Ceilers.

Grace Bradley

Grace Bradley
Grace is a Director, based in the Central London office. She joined Potter Raper in 1998.</p> <p>Grace is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Although Grace heads up our healthcare sector, having successfully delivered numerous projects for both private and NHS Clients, she has extensive experience in a range of sectors including: education, from primary through to tertiary; office, refurbishment and new build; retail from supermarkets to gentlemen’s tailoring and housing from social to a bespoke apartment. Grace heads up the team delivering the new hospital in Ascot for Frimley NHS Foundation Trust.</p> <p>Grace is a keen hill walker and runner, albeit a very slow runner. She is a frequent cinema and theatre goer and an avid reader.

David Spiller

David Spiller
David has worked for Potter Raper since 2001 and is now a Director managing our Quantity Surveying team in the Beckenham Office.</p> <p>David is responsible for our Investors In People accreditation and people-management activities and is actively involved in staff RICS training, having been an APC Assessor for many years.</p> <p>Primarily working in the residential and education sectors, David has delivered both new-build and refurbishment schemes in excess of £50m and is an expert in residential refurbishment, including works involving Leaseholder Billing where he has acted as both Expert Witness and witness of fact at First Tier Tribunals. In addition, David manages large-scale residential projects including providing advice on asset management planning, cost benefit analysis and contractor procurement.</p> <p>When not in the office, David enjoys spending time with his family, rugby, martial arts, golf and gaming.

Nicola Tilbury

Nicola Tilbury
Nicola is the Director of our Brighton office, which opened in 2017. She has been with Potter Raper since 2009.</p> <p>With a cross sector background including healthcare, industrial, commercial, residential and listed buildings, Nicola is an accomplished Project Manager and Employer’s Agent, working on both new-build and refurbishment schemes for our Clients. She also provides Fund Monitoring services and Joint Venture Management/Supervision services.</p> <p>Nicola has a special interest in procurement with a LLM in Construction Law and is a RICS assessor. She has worked for sub-contractors, main contractors, clients as well as consultants so can provide well-rounded advice.</p> <p>Outside of the office, Nicola has a passion for long-distance walking and runs a local Youth Club. You can also occasionally find her roller skating along Madeira Drive in Brighton!

Aaron Baker

Aaron Baker
Aaron is a Director, based in the Central London office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2009.</p> <p>He has amassed varied experience within his professional career and currently works within the commercial, education, hotel and leisure, residential and industrial sectors. Aaron provides our Clients with a full range of Project Management, Employer’s Agent, Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying services. He also has an extensive working knowledge of Due Diligence and Fund Monitoring within all sectors of major development.</p> <p>Having worked in a Client-facing capacity for all of his career, he has experience within diverse Procurement and Delivery Strategies, Partnering and Framework Agreements.</p> <p>Outside of work, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family, as well as cross-country running, mountain biking and watching live sport.

Rob Crane

Rob Crane
Rob is a Director, based in the central London office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2011.</p> <p>Rob delivers a full range of Project Management services including the Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration role and, being a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by background, also brings a strong commerciality to all of his commissions.</p> <p>In terms of sector experience, Rob has a wide range, with his current focus being on commercial, retail, residential, hotel and leisure projects.</p> <p>Outside of the office, Rob likes spending time with his young family, following the highs and lows of the England cricket team, being out in the countryside and fly fishing.

Tom Rose

Tom Rose
Tom joined Potter Raper in 2010 and became Director in May 2019. He is a Chartered Surveyor and now leads a team of Employer’s Agents in the Beckenham Office.</p> <p>Prior to joining Potter Raper, Tom worked as a Landlord and Tenant and General Practice surveyor and brought with him a wealth of commercial property experience. He has delivered residential schemes of all tenures, including high spec Private Sale and Extra Care. Tom is responsible for our industry-leading defects reports, and for our cloud-based site inspection systems.</p> <p>When not working on all of these, he enjoys spending time with his family, occasional bouts of yoga and cycling, cooking, baking bread, fermenting sauerkraut and kombucha, listening to music, going to gigs, reading whenever he can and playing the guitar.

Richard Chisnall

Richard Chisnall
Richard originally worked for Potter Raper between 1995 and 2011 and returned in 2018 as an Associate. In 2019, Richard was promoted to Director and operates out of our Colchester office.</p> <p>Richard has in excess of 20 years’ experience working in private practice, providing all aspects of Quantity Surveying primarily in the commercial, education, healthcare, office and residential sectors. As well as providing core Quantity Surveying services, Richard also undertakes Contract Administration, Employer’s Agent, Fund Monitoring and Expert Witness roles.</p> <p>When not in the office, Richard enjoys relaxing with family and friends, watching and occasionally participating in sport. More often than not, he can be seen on the touchlines cheering on his two sons.

Toby Martin-Jay

Toby Martin-Jay
Toby is a Director, based in the Beckenham office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2020.</p> <p>Toby joins a team of 26 Employer’s Agents/Project Managers delivering services to both public and private sector schemes throughout London and the South of England.</p> <p>With over 20 years of experience, Toby has detailed knowledge of commercial drivers, risk mitigation and problem-solving strategies, and has extensive knowledge in affordable and private residential housing construction.</p> <p>When not in the office, Toby enjoys tennis, science fiction, architecture and the car industry.

Sandra Worth

Sandra Worth
Sandra originally worked for Potter Raper between 1998 and 2008 as an Associate Partner and returned in 2014 after spending time working as a Principal Projects Officer for the NHS. In 2020 Sandra was promoted to Director and helps run the Quantity Surveying department alongside David Spiller.</p> <p>She has gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of Quantity Surveying services over the last 34 years, working primarily in the residential, healthcare and education sectors. She provides financial management and cost control pre-contract on a number of large-scale residential developments for Local Authorities and Housing Associations, whilst providing guidance and support to our team of Quantity Surveyors in the Beckenham office. Her experience working for the NHS has given her a valuable insight into understanding projects from a Client perspective.</p> <p>Sandra also provides a programme for work experience placements for both our Clients and Local schools and has spent time in schools promoting the industry for the past three years.</p> <p>When not in the office, Sandra spends time with her family and enjoys cooking, reading and travelling, particularly to Italy, where she has family.

Shaun Child

Shaun Child
Shaun has worked for Potter Raper since 1997 and provides a wide range of services including Building Surveying, Project Management, Facilities Management, CDM Co-ordinating, Business Planning and Strategy Development, Contract Works for Repairs, and Partnering Arrangements for Clients from both the public and private sectors.</p> <p>Shaun has considerable experience working with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and ALMO’s. Shaun shares responsibilities for the day-to-day running of the Building Surveying department, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, quality service.</p> <p>When not in the office, Shaun enjoys spending time with his family, boating, motorcycling and relaxing.

Ross Sinclair

Ross Sinclair
Ross is an Associate Director, Fellow of the RICS, an RICS Accredited Conservation and Certified Historic Building Professional, actively involved with the RICS as deputy chair of the London Region Awards Judging Panel.</p> <p>In the office, Ross specialises in heritage and conservation, having considerable experience of working on projects to Museums, Art Galleries, Palaces, Mansions, Ecclesiastical Buildings and Grade I Listed Monuments, Heritage Lottery Grant Applications, Receiverships, Claims, and insurance work.</p> <p>When not in the office, Ross enjoys skiing, F1, motor sports, historic cars and travel. Ross is Liveryman and Freeman of the City of London’s Worshipful Company of Masons.

Simon Fowler

Simon Fowler
Simon is an Associate Director, based in the Colchester office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2000.</p> <p>Simon is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and also carries out Fund Monitoring services for multiple banks and funds.</p> <p>Primarily working in the residential and education sectors, he has delivered both new-build and refurbishment schemes for both private and public Clients, ranging in sizes of up to around £20million, and specialises in Bills of Quantities production and traditional procurement.</p> <p>When not in the office, Simon likes spending time with his family, watching football and playing golf.

Chris Spiller

Chris Spiller
Chris has worked at Potter Raper since 2006 and is jointly responsible for the delivery of the Building Surveying Department.</p> <p>Chris has experience in undertaking a wide range of both Professional and Contract Building Surveying Services, with direct management of residential refurbishment projects in excess of £70m value. His areas of expertise include the Decent Homes Standard, Measured Surveys, Condition Surveys, Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), Building Pathology and Defects Analysis.</p> <p>When not in the office, Chris enjoys attending the gym, regularly taking his car on track days and spending time with his family.

Ken Hannah

Ken Hannah
Ken joined Potter Raper in 2013 with a MBA, BSc (Hons) in Construction Management and a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Design in the Built Environment.</p> <p>Appointed to assist the Potter Raper CDM Department to manage the CDM pre-construction process, Ken quickly achieved NEBOSH Construction and Fire Risk National Certificates. Ken is now an Associate Director, leading a CDM Principal Designer team delivering services to UCL and a number of property investment fund projects both commercial and residential from the Potter Raper London office.</p> <p>Ken holds CMaPS status with the Association for Project Safety and sits on both the London Region Committee and the National Client Advisory working party.</p> <p>A golfer, singer and occasional after dinner speaker, Ken is also a keen rugby fan. In his spare time, he is an occasional mentor for University of Westminster Architectural students, a Trustee for Sports Aid (Scotland), a Guide for Scottish Blind Golf and a charity fundraiser.

Nicky Silvey

Nicky Silvey
Nicky carries out Project Management, Employer’s Agent, Contract Administration, Quantity Surveying and Bank Monitoring duties for both public and private sector Clients.</p> <p>Nicky has a broad range of experience within both the Employer's Agent and Quantity Surveying fields and has worked on new-build and refurbishment projects that have varied in both size and value. Nicky’s experience is predominantly in the housing sector, including social housing in both urban and rural areas, but her experience also extends into the commercial sector.</p> <p>When not in the office, Nicky likes spending time with her family and friends, clay pigeon shooting and walking her dogs.

Philip Morgan

Philip Morgan
Phil is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, based in the London office, who joined Potter Raper in 2014.</p> <p>Phil’s experience includes a wide range of projects, forms of contract and methods of procurement across the private and public sectors. He predominantly provides Quantity Surveying services but also has the knowledge and experience to provide Project Management and Employer’s Agent services.</p> <p>When not in the office Phil, likes cycling, rugby and golf.

Daniel Lovell

Daniel Lovell
Daniel currently heads up the Building Surveying team in the London office.</p> <p>Having worked within the commercial, education, retail, and residential sectors for over 19 years, Daniel is able to deliver on all aspects of design and construction, including maintenance, repair, refurbishment and restoration of proposed and existing buildings.</p> <p>His specialist experience includes Project Management and Monitoring, Property Legislation Advice, Party Wall, insurance assessment and claims assistance, defect investigation and maintenance advice, building surveys and measured surveys.</p> <p>When not in the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music, going to the gym, running and cycling.

Stephen Eder

Stephen Eder
Stephen has worked for Potter Raper in the London office since 2013 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2016.</p> <p>Stephen is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of Quantity Surveying services, currently working primarily in the residential and commercial office sectors but also has previous experience in the industrial, educational and retail and leisure sectors. He has over 30 years' experience within the industry and has worked on a wide mixture of refurbishment and new-build projects. Recent projects have included works to listed residential buildings, complex refurbishments of derelict offices sited over rail tunnels and lines and new-build office projects. Stephen maintains an active role in mentoring the more junior members of staff.</p> <p>When not in the office, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family and on his hobbies; learning to sail and shooting.

Emma Woodford

Emma Woodford
Emma carries out Project Management, Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration commissions which involve delivering strategic and high-profile schemes for a wide range of Clients.</p> <p>Emma’s specialist experience encompasses a wide range of experience with an ability to deliver high density, multi-tenure schemes from feasibility through to completion. She is a pre-contract specialist with extensive knowledge of latest design and quality standards and building regulations. She has significant pre and post-contract experience in the commercial and public sectors, with extensive housing experience embracing the latest JCT forms of contract, negotiating bespoke Development Agreements and delivery complex land deals.</p> <p>When not in the office, Emma enjoys cooking, hiking and travelling.

Eng Siong Ng

Eng Siong Ng
Eng Siong joined Potter Raper in 2005 as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor in our London office. Whilst at Potter Raper, Eng Siong has achieved his professional qualification and become an Associate Director.</p> <p>Since joining Potter Raper, Eng Siong has worked on a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects that have varied in both size and value, primarily in the Healthcare, Educational, Residential and Office sectors.</p> <p>When not in the office, Eng Siong likes spending time with his family and friends, reading and relaxing.

Pedro Lopes

Pedro Lopes
Pedro is an Associate Director, based on the Beckenham office since 2013.</p> <p>Pedro has over 25 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager both in the UK and abroad, and he is experienced in all aspects of Pre and Post-Contract financial management and cost control. Pedro works mainly within the residential sector on large estate regeneration projects but also has a wealth of experience working on office, retail, hospitality and major sports events including the London 2012 Olympics.</p> <p>When not in the office, Pedro enjoys spending time with his family, learning about new technologies in combination with design and arts and enjoys photography.

Steve Jones

Steve Jones
Steve carries out Project Management and Employer’s Agent roles across a number of projects for a varied client base.</p> <p>Steve is predominantly involved with large-scale commercial schemes but also has experience in refurbishments, fit-outs and monitoring of industrial unit developments.</p> <p>When not in the office, Steve enjoys long-distance cycling, following most sports and attempting to perfect the art of small-scale brewing.

Michael Morter

Michael Morter
Michael is an Associate Director and has been based in the Central London Office since January 2016. He specialises in providing Employer’s Agent/Project Management services to Registered Social Landlords on all RIBA Plan of Work stages 1 to 7 inclusive. Michael has been particularly involved with complex and phased housing developments up to £150m in value, using traditional JCT contracting documentation, bespoke Development Agreements and Joint Venture arrangements.</p> <p>Since graduating in 1983 having achieved his BSc (Hons), Michael has worked on project types ranging from commercial/industrial properties, healthcare facilities, retail outlets, through financial services premises to residential schemes.</p> <p>Michael is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), Fellow of the Association for Project Management (FAPM) and an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPS).</p> <p>When not in the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, playing badminton, squash and swimming.

Ryan Appleton

Ryan Appleton
Ryan is an Associate Director, based in the Colchester office and has worked at Potter Raper since 2007.</p> <p>Ryan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, although he does also carry out Project Management commissions. Ryan’s portfolio largely comprises our higher education Clients, as well as considerable experience of residential development with projects in excess of £30m. Ryan is also an RICS Assessor and is an elected member on the RICS Matrics UK board.</p> <p>When not in the office, Ryan likes climbing, travelling, shooting and volunteering for the Ambulance Service.

Peter Fitzpatrick

Peter Fitzpatrick
Peter joined Potter Raper in 2017 and is the Associate Director of the Brighton office, which opened in 2017. He has previously worked for Consultancy and Client organisations, as well as main and sub-contractor companies.</p> <p>With a main role of Quantity Surveying, Peter has the required skillset to also deliver Project Management, Employer’s Agent and Bank Monitoring roles and is experienced in working across many sectors including listed buildings, commercial, retail and residential. With an MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management, he is also widely experienced in coastal, fluvial and flood defence matters.</p> <p>When not working, Peter spends his time walking his beagle, watching his sons play football and playing/teaching guitar.

Yogesh Daworaz

Yogesh Daworaz
Yogesh joined Potter Raper as a Year Out Student in 2007 and over the intervening years he progressed through to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, and promoted to Associate Director in 2020.</p> <p>He works predominately within the residential, educational and office sectors and has been involved in a wide range of projects valuing up to £45million. Yogesh has extensive experience working on both single and two-stage tenders.<br /> Yogesh has also worked on refurbishment projects in courts, prisons and probations in his career.</p> <p>Yogesh is a qualified RICS APC Assessor and heads both the London and Beckenham office APC programme for our candidates.</p> <p>When not in the office, Yogesh likes to travel, spend time with his family and watching Formula 1 & football.

Carol Burns

Carol Burns
YCarol has been working at Potter Raper since 2017 and has a broad range of experience working in all sectors.</p> <p>Carol has delivered complex schemes across single and multi-Client groups on both Client and Consultant side, has been point of contact for tenant liaison and been part of Senior Management Teams.</p> <p>Building types that Carol has been involved with include; residential, hospitals, offices, schools, libraries, day care, adult social care, register offices, record office, supermarkets, hotels and public houses. Work areas include asset management, new-build, refurbishment and listed buildings, policy & procedures, maintenance and programme/forecasting work.</p> <p>When not in the office, Carol enjoys the theatre, stained glass and holidays.
