We are excited to announce that Legal & General has submitted a planning application for the £350m Bristol Temple Island masterplan regeneration project. This transformative development aims to breathe new life into the former diesel depot site, creating a vibrant urban quarter that will deliver much-needed homes, high-quality workplaces, and inclusive public spaces.
Located in the heart of the Bristol Temple Quarter regeneration area, Bristol Temple Island is set to become a dynamic new district featuring:
-
- 520 new homes, with 40% dedicated to affordable housing, social rents, shared ownership, and keyworker accommodation at sub-market rents.
- Two new office buildings, offering flexible workspaces designed to support Bristol’s growing knowledge economy.
- Retail spaces that will enhance the local area and provide new opportunities for businesses.
- A hotel with conference facilities, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
- Public realm improvements, including landscaped areas that enhance biodiversity and create enjoyable public spaces.
The project is expected to generate up to 2,000 new jobs, fostering economic growth and innovation in the region.
Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Connectivity
With a strong focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and connectivity, the project is targeting BREEAM Outstanding status for commercial buildings. It will enhance biodiversity through planting and habitat creation, offer new public spaces, and promote low-carbon lifestyles through significant connectivity improvements, including new pedestrian and cycle routes to reduce car use and improve accessibility.
