Investment in the next generation

On Thursday 5th March we attended the Plume School, Maldon. The aim of this event is to allow Year 9 to Year 12 students to seek careers guidance on a one-to-one basis. Jonathan King, one of our Project Managers, spoke to students about the prospects of becoming a Project Manager, what the role entails and what qualifications they would need to achieve APM.

On Wednesday 11th March we also attended the Southwark Careers Fair at Southwark Council. This annual project helps young people discover their career options and provides them with practical knowledge of different industries through employer led workshops. We spoke to students in 15-minute interactive sessions in which they learnt about different surveying careers and participated in mini activities to help them understand different aspects of surveying.

Potter Raper believe that investment in the next generation is imperative. We are committed to teaching and developing all our employees and ensuring we volunteer at career events to develop new talent. We truly believe that the future of our industry is reliant on encouraging young minds to take up a career in construction.
