We are pleased to announce the handover of Cornell Court, Saffron Walden. Potter Raper were appointed by L&Q as Employerโs Agent, Quantity Surveyor and Principal Designer.
This new development comprises 73 self-contained extra care apartments for rent, as well as communal spaces, including a lounge, roof terrace and library. All facilities are designed to be dementia-friendly. It was delivered in partnership with Uttlesford District Council, Essex County Council and Homes England.
The purpose of the scheme is to encourage independent living, although the end-user and service provider will be able to deliver on-site care in individual homes. The scheme will incorporate services such as healthcare, social activities and a hairdressing salon, all of which can be delivered to residents within the comfort of their own living space.
The ยฃ12 million scheme has been named after Daphne Cornell, a former Mayor of Saffron Walden and a former Town and District Councillor, who continues to be involved with local charity work.
Cornell Court will be of great benefit to the local community and will be a welcome addition to the area. L&Q Living will be responsible for providing on-site care and communal facilities for residents.
