We are proud advocates for women in construction and believe inclusivity is essential. With 33% of our workforce made up of women, over double the UK industry average of 14.7%, we are committed to fostering a more diverse and supportive sector. There’s a place for everyone with the passion to build, innovate, and make a lasting impact.
Through initiatives like our Women in Construction (WIN) events, we actively encourage women to explore opportunities in the industry. We offer work experience placements and attend career days, such as those at Langley Park School for Girls, inspiring the next generation to consider a future in construction. In fact, after meeting a student at a career fair, we offered her work experience, and she now works for us full-time as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, studying through day release.
We also offer enhanced Maternity Pay and flexible working arrangements to support new mothers returning to work. And we’re taking further steps to support women in the workplace in the coming months by launching a Menopause Friendly Accreditation project to ensure we provide the right support for our employees.
If you’re a woman considering a career in construction, go for it! Your skills, ideas, and ambition have the power to shape the future of our industry.
