Construction work is underway at Melfield Gardens in Lewisham.
This award-winning Passivhaus project includes the design and construction of 30 affordable housing units for people over 55, 2 four-bedroom homes and a communal space.
The four-bedroom homes will be made available to #students at a London University. In exchange for spending a few hours a week helping, assisting and generally keeping the elderly residents company, the students receive a lower rent. This is part of an ‘intergenerational scheme’ to help find new solutions to the problems of isolation, loneliness and other issues facing the ageing population.
In 2021, Melfield Gardens was awarded a GLA Award at the Housing Design Awards. We are proud to work with client Phoenix Community Housing on this forward-thinking and highly sustainable project.
We are providing Employer’s Agent, Cost Consultant, and Principal Designer services, working alongside Levitt Bernstein (Architect) and Jerram Falkus (Contractor).
