Both buildings now contain state-of-the-art research spaces to ensure that innovative research takes places across the campus for years to come. They have been constructed to highly sustainable standards, including requirements of BREEAM Excellent, WELL Gold, EPC A, LETI guidelines and Passivhaus principles. Mace also aims to reduce the carbon sequestered in the construction of the buildings and has incorporated GBS concrete, prefabrication etc. in the works to reduce carbon emissions as much as possible.
