Brickhouse Farm Barn

Newport Road, Debden, Essex

Part demolition, conversion, and extension of a Grade II listed barn to create two 3-bedroom semi-detached dwellings.

Our Services: Bank Monitoring
Client: Close Brothers Property Finance
Contract Value: £1.14m
Contract Period: 8 months
Contract Type: JCT Minor Works

This project transformed a derelict traditional barn into two stunning character houses with modern interiors, incorporating double height living space with secondary galleried areas at mezzanine level and introducing curved walls.

Bedrooms and bathrooms were fitted with bespoke joinery to maximise the space and storage and the contemporary kitchens were designed to incorporate spacious islands and secret larder cupboards. The barn was finished with zinc and timber cladding, aluminium windows and zinc roofing, which was complemented by industrial style steel staircases internally.
