This project consisted of a redevelopment of an existing science park building. The works included demolition of all facades of the existing building, strip back to the concrete frame, construction of a perimeter floorplate extension and added an additional storey. Internally the building floorplates are completed to CAT A standard, including new mechanical and electrical installations and BMS.
The works to the building increased the floor area by circa 50% whilst adding a large double height reception space and modern facades.
The project has achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating, an EPC rating of A, and includes renewable energy with photovoltaic panels installed on the roof.
Potter Raper also managed the delivery of a retrospective BIM model including linked O&M manuals, installation of fibre connections in advance of the tenants CAT B fit out, and ensuring that the design was modified post contract to include for a Client requirement to achieve WiredScore Platinum.
