Client: Phoenix Community Housing
Contract Value: £12.5m
Contract Period: 2 years
Contract Type: JCT  Design & Build
Awards: 2021 GLA Award – Housing Design Awards

This Passivhaus project will create 30 affordable homes for residents aged 55+ and 2 four-bedroom homes for 8 students in Lewisham. The project follows on from the success of the award-winning Hazelhurst Court, which is in the same street.

There has been a significant focus on intergenerational housing to find new solutions to the problems of isolation, loneliness and other issues facing an ageing population. Based on a ‘good neighbour agreement’, the students will receive a lower rent if they spend a certain number of hours helping the elderly residents.
