The project consisted of a 7-storey commercial office building, alongside extensive landscaping and infrastructure works, as part of the wider Newcastle Helix redevelopment of the former Newcastle Brewery site.
The building provides Grade A office space that is fully BCO compliant, along with a shared reception area and separate A3 café units facing onto public squares. The development achieved both a BREEAM “Excellent” and a WiredScore Platinum rating.
The development required considerable infrastructure works including the diversion of existing utilities, realignment of a public highway and coordination with the concurrent installation of a District Energy network that will service the building.
Potter Raper are also appointed as Project Manager on a second office building, The Spark, similar scale on the adjacent plot.
