Patmore Street is being delivered as part of ‘Homes for Wandsworth’ initiative. The project includes 57 new council rent homes, a community room, bicycle parking, enhanced landscaping and a multi-use games area. The project is being built on an existing council-owned brownfield site. Potter Raper has been appointed as Employer’s Agent, Principal Designer, Clerk of Works and Quantity Surveyor.
The project consists of a mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom flats, six of which will be fully adapted homes for wheelchair users. The design of the blocks is based on passive principles to keep energy costs low for incoming residents. There is a modular plant room on the roof level as well as green roofs.
As the site is located in an existing residential estate, the Contractor has worked closely with the local community to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. They have also facilitated art workshops with the local primary school, given talks on pathways into construction and offered work experience opportunities to a local college.
