Potter Raper is celebrating UK Employee Ownership Day (EO Day) today, which marks the 11th year.
Run by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA), thousands of employee owners, EO businesses and supporters of employee ownership from across the UK come together every EO Day to raise awareness of the benefits and impact of employee ownership.
Founded in 1970 and employing in excess of 180 staff, Potter Raper became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) in 2022 and we’re pleased to celebrate employee ownership alongside others in the sector across the UK.
The Executive Board have said, “The Directors are proud that Potter Raper has adopted the EOT model, we value the essence of employee ownership and what it represents. It’s about empowering our dedicated employees, recognising their contributions and acknowledging that their collective efforts drive our success. The EOT model fosters a culture of collaboration, shared responsibility and a genuine pride in our work.”
This year’s theme is #TheEOeffect, which showcases the impact employee ownership has on employees, business, the wider economy, communities and the environment.
James de le Vingne, CEO for the Employee Ownership Association, said, “Companies such as Potter Raper are great examples of the economic and social benefits that can be achieved when employees have a stake and a say in the business in which they work. Since it started 11 years ago, the reach of EO Day and the scale of the employee ownership sector has grown, with both having more than doubled in the past few years.”
