With Sky’s official confirmation that Universal’s film adaptation of the hit musical Wicked, a Wizard of Oz spin-off, will be the first production to be filmed at the Sky Studios Elstree, works are speeding ahead to complete this new 27.5-acre studio.
Sky Studios Elstree, which will complete later this year, represents a significant new investment in the UK and European creative economy and providing a state-of-the-art film and TV studio, housing 13 sound stages, 2 production support buildings, support offices, a multi-storey car park, and visitor centre, and will create 2,000 jobs in the local area.
With so many productions now being filmed in the UK for overseas markets, we have never seen such a massive boom in Britain.
We are so proud to be part of such a prestigious project, acting as Project Managers, Employer’s Agents, Quantity Surveyors, and Principal Designers, a key part of, what has been labelled ‘the new British Hollywood’.
